The Design Business Association denies rumours that its International Design Effectiveness Awards have been cancelled.

Industry sources have intimated that the numbers of entries may have fallen, following the DBA’s decision to hike the entry fee by 675 per cent for non members (DW 3 May).

DBA chief executive Ian Rowland-Hill says: “We are still on target and have received the same number of good entries this year as usual.” He says he remains “optimistic” that enough entries will have been received by the closing date of Friday 25 May.
