The Box tunes to new identity

Digital music channel The Box is to unveil a revamped identity, created by Bamber Forsyth, in June as it attempts to align itself with newly launched sister station, Smash Hits TV.

“We have refreshed the identity and helped to strengthen the relationship with Smash Hits TV,” says Bamber Forsyth director Clare Fuller.

The Box, owned by Emap Performance, previews up-and-coming chart hits up to six weeks before UK-wide release tomorrow, as well as playing current chart music. The Smash Hits channel, launched on 15 May on Sky Digital, plays hit music.

“It makes sense for The Box to become more closely linked to Smash Hits TV, as it will in effect supply the hits that Smash Hits then plays,” says Emap Performance director Malcolm Cox.

The consultancy won the work without a pitch, having previously worked for Emap Performance on identities for Kiss 100 and Smash Hits.
