Vario adds colour to L’Oréal haircare range

Vario, the consultancy launched by former Light & Coley directors, has been awarded a rebranding job from cosmetics giant L’Oréal.

It was appointed last week to redesign the look, feel and print marketing literature for L’Oréal’s range of professional hair colourants.

The products are themed by fashion “seasons” and the autumn/ winter collection will be available in salons this autumn. “The redesign is to ensure the fashion-led range remains fresh and up-to-date,” says Vario director Martin Seymour.

The consultancy was appointed following a two-way, unpaid creative pitch against an unnamed consultancy.

Vario has been set up by former Light & Coley directors Seymour, David Jones and Brem Bremner. It will focus on print and on-line design work and has retained around 85 per cent of Light & Coley’s former clients, including Crooks Healthcare, JP Morgan Chase and Guinness UDV’s Johnnie Walker brand.

Light & Coley ceased trading after 19 years in February (DW 23 February).
