JKR adds colour to Trevor Sorbie packaging

Premium hairdressing brand Trevor Sorbie Professional is launching its first product designed by Jones Knowles Ritchie since the consultancy was appointed to review the range in January.

The Colour+ range of colouring shampoo is a new addition to the Trevor Sorbie Professional portfolio, with further products in development.

JKR’s design places greater emphasis on the brand’s identity on-pack, as part of a brief to be ‘louder and prouder’ with the brand’s packaging and Sorbie’s status, according to consultancy partner Andy Knowles. ‘We’re helping to strengthen the brand by refreshing it. Trevor Sorbie is seen as the guru of hairdressing, in many ways, and we’re trying to be a bit louder about that, but not too loud,’ he says.

The products are presented in a new bottle structure, with bold graphic elements to help raise stand-out on-shelf. Competitor products include ranges from Charles Worthington, John Frieda and Nicky Clarke.

There are three variants in the Colour+ range – Blonde, Brunette and Redhead – each featuring low-level dyes to enhance natural, highlighted and coloured hair. The line includes ranges of shampoos and conditioners.

JKR will continue to work through the Trevor Sorbie Professional portfolio, updating existing packs and designing new products.

The consultancy has also designed a range of packaging for Molton Brown.
