The in-house industrial design team at Hunting Aviation has chosen a deliberately domestic lavatory for the interiors of a new aircraft for its Korean client KCDC – a joint venture by local companies including Samsung and Daewoo. The team was briefed in March and completed a K100 mock-up in time for the Korean Air Show this week. ‘A theme of ellipses and soft curves was developed along with retro detailing,’ says a Hunting spokesman. Features in the lavatory include wheelchair access and a baby changing facility. The K100 is due to be launched in 2001.

Fund management firm Titan Capital Management has an updated corporate identity and new literature, including this brochure, designed by new consultancy Boyd & Co. The new look is the culmination of a five- month programme to redefine the company’s image. Set up three years ago, Titan ‘was very avant garde’, says marketing strategist Gertrud Keazor. ‘But now our client base is more institutionalised and we wanted to look more serious.’ The company’s original identity was created by Ellis Boyd Arup. Boyd & Co was founded after an amicable ‘restructuring’ of Ellis Boyd Arup, says founder Susi Boyd.

Dutch food producer Smilde Food Group is introducing to the UK its meat-free meals targeted at young children. Packaging and naming are by Tynan D’Arcy.

British Airways’ new offices will rehouse 2000 staff and not 200 as reported last week. Design manager for the Combined Business Centre is Tilney Lumsden Shane chief executive Kathy Tilney and the architect is Niels Torp.
