Bluestone steers yacht identity

Plymouth consultancy Bluestone has created the identity for Goss Challenges, the company behind a round-the-world sailing trip planned by sailor Pete Goss.

Goss plans to sail around the world in The Race, the French competition which will take place on 31 December 2000.

“The colours are intended to reflect the nautical element, the swirl [gives] a feeling of fluidity and the tick represents the flag. Overall the aim is to convey a spirit of adventure and patriotism,” says a Bluestone spokeswoman.

Bluestone is also working on a website for the company through Xelerator, a new media alliance it has formed with technical consultancy Netserve.

The boat was designed by Adrian Thompson, the freelance product designer who created the racing bike for Olympic gold medalist Chris Boardman.
