The Real David Mellor takes each area of Mellor’s work and demonstrates the input and control he has over the total creative process. (Pictured: Stirling silver teapot). Mellor’s work in cutlery design, product and urban design, large- scale commissions and retail will be on display from 29 September until 24 November.

Sixty decorators launch their autumn collections at Focus ’98. Furniture, fabrics, wall coverings, decorative accessories and lighting all feature at the event which runs until 30 September. The public can attend on 26 September.

Venue: Chelsea Harbour Design Centre, London SW10.

At Tectonic, Barber Osgerby Associates and Michael Sodeau explore the function and perception of modern materials in furniture, interior and related design. A display of twentieth century furniture selected by the designers, provides an historical context to the exhibition, which runs from 29 September until 4 October.
