The fouler side of the Gannet Experience

There is a colony of 30 000 gannets off the Scottish coast with which the aptly named Richard Fowler of RFA Designers has become very familiar.

As part of his research for the design of the Scottish Seabird Centre, he spent time in their company, not that they endeared themselves to him.

‘They’re huge with really starey eyes,’ he quivers. Worse still, they spit regurgitated fish. Apparently, Fowler’s colleagues are still keen not to get down-wind of him.
