Imagination makes Caddy top creative

Imagination has promoted Adrian Caddy to creative director, to work alongside the group’s managing director Gary Withers.

With the exception of The Imagination Group founder Withers, Caddy is the first creative director to take up the post in the consultancy’s 18-year history.

Withers will remain creative director of The Imagination Group, which also includes Imagination Entertainments, Virgile & Stone and Imagination USA.

Withers is thought to have relinquished creative responsibilities to concentrate on the Millennium project, which the group won in January this year. But a group spokeswoman says Caddy’s appointment came about because Caddy “is Gary’s natural successor on the creative side”.

Caddy, who was appointed to the Imagination board as deputy creative director in January 1995, will be working with Imagination’s marketing director Ralph Ardill on “the company’s creative and strategic offer”, she says.

Withers comments: “Caddy’s appointment comes at an exciting time and at a major turning point for us as we approach the next millennium.”
