Dutch campers reckon signs are bit of a cock-up

Who’s a happy camper? It’s the silhouetted chap with a rucksack on his back standing next to a tent who appears on the signs at campsites across Holland.

The man (and he really is some man) appears to be sporting a monstrous erection. Has he spotted something in the tent he likes? Unlikely, as the signs, which mark out places where people can camp in the wild, are meant to show a man carrying a stick.

But the Dutch Forestry Commission has bowed to public pressure (who said the Dutch were liberal?) and removed the offending signs.

A shame, but understandable nevertheless. After all, it was a rather big stick and no one likes a show-off, do they?
