Plant roots for growth with Etu Odi homepage

Plant this week launches a new website as part of the company’s expansion plans, which will also see it launch two new restaurants later this year.

The site, www.plantfooddrink. com, was designed by Etu Odi and will initially act as a showcase for the brand, says Plant director Uchenna Ngwaba.

‘We wanted the website to reflect the brand, which is interesting, fresh and innovative. As we’re based in Soho and our customers are media and design-oriented we felt it was a medium we couldn’t ignore,’ she says.

Uzo Okoye, director at Etu Odi says, ‘We wanted to push design boundaries. The company’s logo is grass so we’ve used it to create movement through the site.

‘We have also created an online Etch A Sketch and have designed an innovative way of storing [the images] so that people can browse through and locate their image as well as look at other’s,’ he says.

Phase two of the project, which launches later this year, will see the integration of e-commerce applications to enable on-line ordering. It will also ramp up the focus on community elements such as chat facilities.

‘We want to launch phase two when we’re more established,’ says Ngwaba. ‘We hope to establish a Plant community network that encourages the eat well, live well, healthy living lifestyle.

‘When we open more restaurants our customers will be able to compare notes on line,’ she adds.

Etu Odi was appointed without a formal pitch and the project is believed to be worth around £30 000 in fees to the consultancy.

The site was designed by Uzo Okoye and Lawrence Garwood.
