Realms of Impossibility: Air, Ground and Water to be published on 29 April

Part anthology, part guidebook and part fable is how Bartlett Architecture Research Lab director and Studio 8 creative director CJ Lim describes his three-volume series Realms of Impossibility: Air, Ground and Water, published on 29 April by Wiley Academy.

Operating as an interactive trilogy, the books celebrate architectural and design projects that ‘fly in the face of reason’ and feature diverse work from the likes of Archigram, Buckminster Fuller, Zaha Hadid, Damien Hirst, Renzo Piano and Rachel Whiteread.

References to websites, books, films and places are intended to provide readers with ‘interfaces’ to explore beyond the books themselves, as well as being a critique on publishing formats, says Lim.
