Tank UK

Tank UK designed second-hand business cards, postcards and a letterhead for San Francisco housing complex, code-named Public Housing, which turned a disused building into a hip venue incorporating a bar, restaurant, record shop salon and fashion boutique.

Used printers’ press sheets form the basis of the stationery, further exploring the idea of re-use and keeping costs down, says Tank UK partner Jean-André Villamizar. The cards feature randomly overprinted graphics and images, which enjoyed a previous life, on the reverse.

‘We wanted something arty, but not overly stylised, and were keen for the complex to borrow from the street culture it feeds off,’ he says.
