Curtain rises on Nykris’ new RSC website

The Royal Shakespeare Company is to unveil a redesigned website next month, created by Web design consultancy Nykris.

The redevelopment of the site (www.rsc.org.uk) aims to provide ‘optimum usability’ for those buying tickets on-line. Nykris was appointed to the task after winning a three-way pitch in June. The RSC hopes to increase on-line ticket sales and develop learning resources on its site.

The redesign comes after a technical overhaul of the box office booking system ‘left the website behind’, according to Roger Mortlock, RSC director of communications. Mortlock says the company wants to use the Internet in a ‘dynamic way’ to encourage revenue generation.
