McCain drops roster for Elmwood

Frozen food manufacturer McCain has rejected a roster approach in favour of working with just one design consultancy, Elmwood, it has emerged this week.

According to the company’s head of communications Simon Eyles, the decision was made because the company wanted to work ‘in partnership with one group that can get closer to our business and understand our needs better’ than is possible in a roster situation.

‘We feel it makes more sense that we rely on one group as a partner in business and think it will help us achieve greater value, both intellectually and financially,’ explains Eyles.

Elmwood, which had been on the McCain roster for five years, was appointed following a two-way pitch process, thought to include Springetts. The roster was previously four-strong. Eyles declined to name the listed groups.
