Duke of Edinburgh turns to design

It seems the royals just can’t get enough of design – which has to be good for the industry. Last week we reported Prince Charles’ foray into packaging design, after rumours that he was key in the decision to remove the royal endorsement from Gallaher’s Benson & Hedges and Silk Cut cigarettes. And now we find his dad, the culture-obsessed Duke of Edinburgh, will be visiting Checkland Kindleysides at the end of this week, to mark the official opening of its new Leicester premises.

We imagine the Duke will be only too pleased to relay his sophisticated views on brand- ing until the cows come home.
