Harrison’s bar format on track at Windsor Station

Birmingham group Harrison Design has evolved the Ha!Ha! Bar and Canteen format to a new outlet, due to open at Windsor Royal Station in May.

The group has tailored the design to the listed railway station, which still runs one train into the centre of London. It also places a great emphasis on the food it serves.

“A food offering generally appeals to a more discerning customer base, even if they’re only coming in for a drink. Because of the upmarket area, we have brought the cooking up front, in full view,” says consultancy managing director Philip Harrison.

Harrison Design created the original format for the five-strong chain, in conjunction with the client’s in-house team.

The Windsor Royal Station shopping complex has seen 30 shops open since it opened in November 1997, and is now 75 per cent full. Many of the outlets have tailored their formats to complement the surroundings.

Stores already open include Liberty’s, Daks-Simpson, Jaeger, Viyella and French Connection.
