Draw and Dial…
The fax machine may be redundant these days as a piece of office equipment, but is the next big thing for importing and exporting Brazilian and UK Art, it appears.
This may seem a little strange. But Brazilian Art collective Autista has found that by using lo-fi fax machines to showcase young talent in and outside of Brazil it can avoid high taxes.
A collaboration between KK Outlet in London and Pop Gallery in Sao Paulo, Fax Ex-Machina is a one-off live art exchange between four Brazilian artists and four UK artists running from 5-26 March.
Brazilian artists Ramon Martins, Eduardo Recife, Elisa Sassi and Carlos Dias will fax their original artwork from Brazil on to the walls of KK Outlet. Meanwhile, UK artists Andrew Clark, Billie Jean, Mcbess and Jimmy Turrell will draw live in the KK Outlet and transmit their pieces to Pop Gallery.
An additional fax will be place in the window of KK Outlet at 42 Hoxton Square, London N1, where creatives from around the globe will be invited to fax artwork. All submissions should be sent to the following number +44 (0)207 033 7681.
Congratulations for the project! Elisa and David, brazucas na cabeça.
