Burfield Design puts BFI show in the can

The British Film Institute’s celebration of 100 years of cinema in the UK kicked off last week at London’s Museum of the Moving Image with an exhibition created by London- and Milan-based consultancy Burfield Design.

The group has produced a portable stand incorporating video monitors and a BFI interactive information database.

“We’ve used a steel floor and curved back-lit screens to give the appearance of film reels in the BFI’s colours of black, white and red,” says Burfield Design managing director John Field. “The look is very strong and aggressive,” he adds.

The exhibition will travel across the UK and may make it to Dublin. The consultancy’s reputation – it has worked for clients including Gucci and British Airways – prompted the BFI to commission the work, says Field.
