Newell and Sorrell has appointed Michael Wolff and Anthony Simonds-Gooding as non-executive directors.

Wolff, who has worked as a consultant for Newell and Sorrell since 1992, is billed by the consultancy as “one of the most pre-eminent practitioners in corporate identity”. The consultancy’s deputy chairman Lynne Dobney says his appointment is a “formalisation” of his work with Newell and Sorrell.

Simonds-Gooding is chairman of British Design and Art Direction, and has held chief executive positions at Whitbread, Saatchi & Saatchi and British Satellite Broadcasting.

Newell and Sorrell chairman John Sorrell says he is delighted that Wolff and Simonds-Gooding are joining the board: “They are two of the most inspirational people I know. They will be key figures in helping us to develop Newell and Sorrell over the coming years,” he says.
