Environmental design group C21 has designed a website for the Geneva World AIDS conference. ‘The site gathers a number of fun images together: the Ken and Barbie dolls and the heart emphasise the positive aspects of sexual relationships,’ says C21 senior consultant Adam Garfunkel. Elsewhere a monkey is used to stress the value of communication, while stars convey the European dimension. The conference runs from 28 June-3 July.

Lee Midwinter’s illustration Under Our Skin? is featured in Surface, a new publication which aims to promote the work of recent graduates. The book is the brainchild of Surrey Institute of Art & Design graduating students Dan Barber and Toby Fisher who formed Surface Design. Each designer was asked to respond to the theme surface, ‘the only restraints being the size of the page and our insistence that they bloody well enjoyed themselves’, according to Barber and Fisher. The book, which was designed by the duo, went into shops last week and is intended to appear annually.
