Glidden in the pink as car furniture makes comeback

It’s great to see the genre of car-inspired chairs is coming to the fore (News, DW 11 March).

Here is my contribution, circa 1985, created as an impressionable (and sartorially challenged) student, inspired by those big pink Caddies of 1950s America, via Memphis.

Featuring genuine cheap cassette player, tinny speakers, manual reclining mechanism and vibrant pink real vinyl (none of that leather stuff), as well as working head and sidelights, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

I wonder if any readers have other examples of car-inspired chairs – maybe we could meet and go on a rally, or just sit around and discuss whether red socks are ever going to come back in fashion?
