Dance music CD has a Spring in its step

Spring Design Consultants has created the sleeve for In The Mix, the latest album from garage DJ and producer Grant Nelson.

Released last week, the album cover uses double exposure photography of Nelson in action, “capturing the movement, energy and spontaneity he’s renowned for in his live performances,” explains Spring Design partner Ian Kiloh. “At the same time, the coolness of the colours and photographic detail reflects his technical mastery and control over the decks. With such a big personality, we felt the design had to do justice to his presence behind the turntables.”

The work is the latest of a number of projects undertaken by the consultancy for Logic records over the past 12 months, including album sleeves and identities for a variety of artists and compilations.

Logic Records product manager Mark Shade says: “We have worked with Spring on a number of projects, and it continues to prove its ability to develop fresh and innovative creative solutions for a diverse selection of musical styles.”
