Somerset House, the landmark London building which previously housed offices of the Inland Revenue, opens to the public today, after a long restoration.

As well as shops, restaurants and cafés, the building will also play host to the Gilbert Collection of European decorative art. Design consultancies including Atelier, responsible for signage and graphics, Lighting Design Partnership and disability planning advisor C Wycliffe Noble had a hand in the project.
