A home delivery chain for cooked organic food is launching in London, under the name The Ozone.
The venture has been set up by former Wagamama chef Clive Sharrocks and former Top Shop finance director Jeremy Lewis. Graphics and interior design is by McBrides & Grandfield.
The Ozone’s first shop has just opened on London’s Finchley Road, and will serve food to be consumed in the on-site restaurant, by take away, or home delivery. A second, in Chiswick, is set to follow soon with a dozen more aimed to be opened in London and the South East over the next 12-18 months.
McBrides & Grandfield is designing retail interiors, and graphics for menus, signage, stationery and uniforms.
The organic menu, which includes a wide vegetarian range, aims to compete with the conventional home delivery market dominated in the UK by pizzas, Indian and Chinese food.
McBrides & Grandfield creative director Julie Giddens says: “We came up with the name The Ozone – the O is for organic. Part of the identity was to create a vocabulary of icons. For example, we use one style of chair for the office, one for the restaurant and one for the home.”
Three types of outlet are now envisaged for The Ozone. These consist of: sites with integrated restaurants, smaller deli-style outlets supplied from the main Finchley kitchen, and branches for home delivery.
