Royal College department name change isn’t finalised

An important point of clarification regarding what I said about the proposed name change for the Royal College of Art’s Department of Communication Art and Design (www. designweek.co. uk, 15 November) – I mentioned visual communications and moving image in the context of destination, not as de facto new title of the department.

What is important here is, of course, the fact that we are moving away from the old limitations of Communication Art and Design towards a more inclusive, forward-facing representation of visual communication in its many forms.
