Summerhouse tackles RMC report

Summerhouse Communications has designed building materials supplier RMC’s UK sustainable development report 2001, which launches this week, for a fee of £18 000.

The consultancy also helped plan, edit and produce the 24-page document, which details RMC’s performance set against different environmental criteria.

The criteria include water and waste management and energy consumption. It includes the company’s environmental targets for 2002 and the progress it has made in this area over the last year.

The report will be sent out to buyers, investors, local authorities and wildlife trusts, among others.

The consultancy was appointed off the back of its experience in designing similar reports and its ability to advise on content, claims Summerhouse Communications managing director Will Peskett.

‘We do a lot of environmental reports so we have built up a good knowledge of what other companies are saying. We know what areas of the report to emphasise, how it should be structured and what it should contain,’ he says.

‘This also enabled us to interpret the design in both a creative and meaningful way,’ he adds.

The consultancy was appointed following credentials presentation in ‘early summer’.
