Universal in board move to aid expansion

Universal Design Studio has appointed former BBC corporate property chief Dan Higgott pictured) as director, adding a fourth member to its board.


The interior and industrial design group says it is strength ening its management before diversify ing into other design sectors. Universal director and founder Jay Osgerby says, ‘We wish to continue to develop our retail client base, which is at the core of Universal’s expertise, move further into other sectors where our experience in markets can best be exploited.’


In line with this strategy, Higgott has been charged growing the business and ‘taking advantage of current opportunities in varied sectors’. He joins following two at the BBC. Prior to this, spent four years at 3D design group Redjacket.
