Poke takes ‘liberation and freedom’ as its text

Our friends at Poke are doing strange things with mobile phones again. As part of Designersblock, founding partners Simon Waterfall and Iain Tait have created a Room 10101 for Nokia. In case you didn’t guess, it’s a ‘digital derivation of George Orwell’s infamous Room 101 from his novel 1984’.

But Poke’s room, according to Waterfall, is ‘a place of liberation and freedom of expression, not an instrument of hate and repression’. Right on, brother, right on. In essence, SMS words or phrases will be translated into a montage of image projections.

Nip down to the basement of the Tea Building in Shoreditch between now and Sunday to find out what’s going on.
