Spendrups brands given makeover by Holmes & Marchant

Holmes & Marchant has created new branding and packaging for the Loka water brand and the Spendrups beer brand, both owned by Swedish brewery Spendrups.

The consultancy was appointed in 2008, according to a spokeswoman. The new design for Loka sees the brand’s forest graphic redrawn and the Loka logo updated, with the font’s serifs and rounded edges removed. A ’wave’ device at the base of each Loka label communicates the flavours.

Holmes & Marchant says the aim of the redesign of the flagship Spendrups beer range was to ’create a strong icon for the brand, incorporating the naturalness of the grain plus the heritage of the brewery’.

Jason Botterill, account director at Holmes & Marchant, says, ’It was crucially important for Spendrups to invest in design to ensure its home-grown brands continued to compete with international names.’

The new designs are set to launch on shelf.
