Bazalgette builds bridge over the generation gap

B.a.z.a.l.g.e.t.t.e. That’s the problem with unusual names, you have to spell them out over the phone to dimwitted journalists.

But Lee Bazalgette, who’s just joined Factory Design as design engineer, has less reason to curse his name than most, particularly in design circles. He’s related to Sir Joseph Bazalgette, the distinguished civil engineer responsible for constructing the Thames Embankment no less, as well as Battersea, Putney and Hammersmith bridges.

But Bazalgette junior (pictured above), thanks to his illustrious predecessor, can focus on new product development rather than dealing with the Great Stink.
