GT Network builds global capability

Good Technology is setting up a tactical network of specialist Web design, interactive, technology and digital media groups for the WPP Group.

Called GT Network, the project is being spearheaded by Good Technology chairman Richard Davies, who says he is looking to wholly acquire a number of specialist groups across the world – some as far afield as the Far East.

Already on board are Good Technology sister group Incline – both groups were part of the Tempus Group, which was acquired by WPP 18 months ago – and XM London (formerly Bates Interactive).

‘We are probably looking to reach about three or four groups initially, through outright acquisition,’ says Davies. ‘We are also in advanced talks with two other high profile digital groups as well.’

Davies says a key aim of the network is the ability to legitimately offer a complete range of digital services to clients. The initiative is designed to play on the specialisms of each member. ‘We are trying to invest in [groups] with distinct offers,’ he explains.

Each GT Network group will operate autonomously, with some adopting the network’s branding and others retaining their own brands.
