Unit Editions opens doors on Unit Gallery

Publisher Unit Editions has launched a Unit Gallery space and is hosting its inaugural exhibition on Icelandic type foundry Or Type.

Unit Editions specialises in publishing graphics and visual arts books and was set up by Adrian Shaughnessy of Shaughnessy Works and Tony Brook of Spin.

The new dedicated gallery space is housed within the Unit Editions studio and will stand to present work of “international designers past and present”.

Or Type is based in Reykjavik and London and publishes typefaces by Gunmad (Guðmundur Úlfarsson & Mads Freund Brunse).

Unit Editions says Or Type specialises in “bold alphabets with a unique style”.  You might recognise some of them from New York Times Magazine, The Wire and the identity for the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.

Or Type: Now & Then Or Again will run from 13 February – 13 March at Unit Gallery, Studio 2,
 33 Stannary Street, London, SE11 4AA.
