Kemistry kicks off with ITV football

Kemistry has been appointed to brand ITV1’s forthcoming Premiership programming, including its flagship programme of Premier League highlights, which will go on air from 18 August.

The project includes designing the series branding, opening titles and graphics content for the channel’s Saturday night, Sunday and Monday football programming.

It has also been appointed to develop the on-air branding for ITV1’s Saturday afternoon football show On the Ball, Kemistry marketing director Guy Hewitt says.

The launch of the Saturday night highlights programme, which is understood to be called The Premiership, marks the culmination of a bitter battle between ITV and the BBC for the broadcast rights of Premier league highlights.

Meanwhile, FutureBrand English & Pockett has created the on-screen branding for the pay-per-view ITV Sport Channel. The focus is on football coverage, including the Nationwide League.

The consultancy has created seven predominantly live action title sequences, all with a common link: ‘real football’.

‘We have come up with various idents that feature teams from divisions one, two and three, which will be featured depending on the game,’ says a FutureBrand English & Pockett spokesman.
