Nucleus unites NatWest identity

NatWest Markets, the investment banking subsidiary of NatWest group, launched a new identity system this week created by Nucleus Design.

NatWest Markets has been criticised for making insufficient progress with many worldwide businesses. The new global identity system should signify links between the group’s elements.

Nucleus Design managing director Peter Matthews says: “NatWest Markets’ strategy has been to create a global investment bank. They have acquired a number of companies which are high-profile in their own niches. The new system allows individual businesses to use the goodwill associated with those businesses but also brings them together.”

A new branding device is introduced while bronzes and creams are added to the corporate blue. “The previous identity wasn’t flexible enough to link all the company’s names,” says Matthews. “We are confident this is what is needed now and in the future.”
