RPA Europe delays director appointment

RPA Europe will not replace former managing director Michael Howard until at least the end of this year, says chairman Gerry Postlethwaite. It is possible that Howard’s eventual replacement may come from an internal promotion, he adds.

Since Howard’s departure in March the managing director’s role has been shared between Postlethwaite, marketing director Scott Siemers and creative director John Cameron.

The arrangement was initially to be short term while a more permanent strategy was developed. “Mike Howard was very close to a lot of people here and it would have been hard for somebody to step in right away,” says Postlethwaite.

But it has now been decided that the current management team will be retained for an extended period. “If we are going to add to the overheads it will most likely be on beefing up the marketing and creative resources,” says Postlethwaite. Two new marketers have recently been recruited.
