Film: Made You Look

What: Made You Look is a documentary about the UK’s graphic arts scene. Made by Anthony Peters, the film features interviews with the likes of Fred Deakin, Kate Moross, Anthony Burrill and Hattie Stewart. The film had its debut screening at the Pick Me Up festival this year and is also being released online.

When: Made You Look has just been made available online and an on-demand film. It is also screening around the UK.

Typeface: Gill updated

What: Type foundry Monotype is set to release updates to two of Eric Gill’s most popular typefaces – Gill Sans and Joanna. To mark the release of the typefaces, Monotype is set to hold an exhibition at London’s Truman Brewery showcasing archive material relating to the typefaces’ development. The show will also feature digital installations by Field

Festival: The Festival of Marketing

What: The Festival of Marking – run by Design Week’s publisher Centaur – will bring together representatives from more than 3,000 brands, agencies and marketers. Keynote speeches will come from the likes of Lord Sugar, Monica Lewinsky and astronaut Chris Hadfield and there will also be talks looking at MTV and Channel 4’s creative transformation and a session titled Brand Valuation is Brilliant/Bullshit.

When: 11-12 November.

Conference: Offset London

What: Creative conference Offset is leaving its Dublin home for the first time and putting on an event in London. The Offset London event will feature talks from Tomi Ungerer, Morag Myerscough, Erik Kessels, Graphic Thought Facility and much, much more.

When: 12-13 November

Awards: The Design Week Awards

What: The annual Design Week Awards recognises the best design work across all sectors. Winners will be announced from this year’s shortlist, which features 100 projects across 19 categories. Design Week will also be launching its Hall of Fame, which will feature leading designers nominated by readers. The evening will be hosted by comedian and TV presenter Sue Perkins.

When: 25 November
