Red is a new restaurant and wine bar in London’s Soho with interiors by freelance designer Gary Messider, graphics by freelance Patrick Budge and a feature called a vodka dome designed by founder Ian Rey. This is a help-yourself metallic tower measuring out vodka on each table, and Rey expects it to become Red’s trademark. ‘It’s a western bar with a slight Russian theme,’ explains Rey, who secured ‘financial input’ from Russian company Novoport.

Fitch and Design Solution have created a blueprint for Debenhams 2000, a revamp of the department store chain to greet the millennium, with the help of Revolution and Carte Blanche Design Consultants.
