CLK and C&FD praised for good performances

Brand development consultancy CLK and financial design group C&FD are praised with a “special mention” in parent group Princedale’s half-year results.

Princedale’s third design interest, MPL, is notable by its absence from group chairman Stephen Bennett’s results statement. However, the marketing services division “turned in an excellent performance”, says Bennett.

The group-level management of the division by CLK joint chairman Chris Wood has worked well since its adoption in January. The “more cohesive unit is helping fuel an already impressive growth rate”, says Bennett.

C&FD, CLK and sales promotion agency BDP have “demonstrated an ability to sell their skills into some of the fast growing sectors of our economy which have not traditionally been significant users of their services”, he adds. Financial services is an example of such a sector cited by Bennett.

The results support Bennett’s praise of the marketing services division. It saw pre-tax, pre-interest profits rise by 80 per cent to 956 000 in the six months to the end of June compared to the same period last year. Turnover rose from 8.5m to 9.2m.

The overall group figures record a rise in pre-tax profit to 1.27m from a turnover of 25.8m. A dividend of 0.4p per share will be paid in November.
