Rodney Fitch & Co in Hong Kong has created the identity and interiors for Watson’s Wine Cellar, a new chain of wine shops in the former British colony.
As the first wine shop chain in Hong Kong, it aims to stress the wine-drinking tradition and educate people on its merits. ‘The wine market in Hong Kong is underdeveloped, but growing rapidly… Traditionally, brandy has been the drink of choice [although] there has been a growing interest in wines,’ says Rodney Fitch & Co senior associate Louise Dann.
As part of the educational approach, each outlet will include a wine-tasting area. A second Watson’s branch will open at the end of this year, with further outlets planned.
