The Stock Exchange and Chartered Accountants annual award for the best published accounts of a big company went to Kingfisher, whose report was designed by Corporate Graphics International. Hodder Headline’s report, by Merchant Corporate Design, won the small company award.

Siebert Head has redesigned Safeway’s own-label herbs and spice range to compete better with the Schwartz brand.

The Sir Misha Black Medal, in recognition of designers and innovators, has this year been awarded to British engineer Dr Alexander Moulton.

The Interior Concepts Partnership has won a 5000 prize in the south east regional final of the Business Link – Making the Difference awards. The group is now eligible for the national final of the competition.

Manchester’s Insight Strategic Design Consultants has beaten Siebert Head in a written proposals pitch to redesign Turtle Wax packaging. The new-look packaging will be rolled out by the car care products group next year.

Internet design group Music Network is launching a number of websites, following its acquisition by WebMedia group. The deal was struck six months ago, although technically both companies have yet to sign on the dotted line. Imminent launches include ClubNet, a partnership with magazine UK Club Guide, which will supply listings, and websites for radio stations Kiss 102 and Kiss 105. The group is also developing concepts for pop group Portishead, which will provide a year-round forum for its identity.

The Safeway wine department fixtures referred to in Hot shots (DW 14 February) were designed by Fitch and not by Berryman Ball, which created concepts.
