Make a note of the Marc Newson lecture taking place at the Royal College of Art on 17 March. Newson, a Paris-based Australian, trained as a jeweller/ sculptor. Recent projects include Coast Restaurant in London, Cartier in Paris and the Syn recording studio in Tokyo.

On 11-13 March is the trade fair Retail Collection at Olympia, London. Seminars deal with developing the retail environment to fulfil customer’s needs by Neil Whitehead of Fitch Design Consultants and the use of colour to promote retail sales by Paul Wickens of Wickens Tutt Southgate.
