LT foresees design trouble

Government plans for privatisation of the London Underground could lead to design difficulties, says Jeremy Rewse-Davies, design director of London Transport.

Transport Secretary Sir George Young announced three privatisation options on Tuesday: the sale of the network as one unit, or line by line, or the separation of infrastructure with franchised lines. The plans will form part of the Conservative’s General Election manifesto.

Rewse-Davies claims that splitting lines up would make “a co-ordinated design more difficult”.
