Nucleus Design has brought in a former Microsoft divisional director, Tony Gawin, to boost its new media team.

Gawin was previously divisional sales and marketing director for Microsoft Australia. He will head up development and consultancy for the consultancy’s “burgeoning activities in corporate Internet design and electronic transaction systems”, says a spokeswoman for Nucleus.

Nucleus managing director Peter Matthews adds: “This is the first in a series of senior appointments which will position Nucleus as a leading player in new media, corporate identity and branding.”

Nucleus Design’s identity for Portugal’s biggest supermarket chain Pingo Doce has been tweaked and applied to store interiors and exteriors by RPA Europe. RPA is responsible for the interiors revamp currently rolling out and is also working on new departments for the retail chain.
