Prague’s famous Koruna Palace at Wenceslas Square is to house a three-floor music store. Project management and architecture for the project is by DY Davies, with Jon Wealleans of Davies Design working on interiors and graphics. Client Bonton, the Czech Republic’s largest private company, has 21 stores but the new ‘megastore’, scheduled to open by the start of 1996, will be its flagship. The listed status is causing ‘restrictions’ on the design of the 2300m2 store, says Wealleans, who is ‘hopeful’ some of the design elements will be rolled out to other Bonton stores in the future.
