Developed from an earlier website, One Asia, ( was conceived to provide a fun, intelligent site for the UK Asian community.

“The spiciest dotcom on the Web” is a mix of news, sports, events, fashion, culture and entertainment, with a mission statement of integration, not segregation. “We have endeavoured to unite the south Asian communities in the UK through content and design,” explains managing director Farheen Khan. “We aspire to be the Asian hub on the Web, providing information, services and products.

“The ethos of the company is to encourage our users to speak to us. We want it to be at one with the community that we represent. We are constantly researching and developing new technology to make as interactive as possible,” he adds. “Traditional media is not interactive, so we decided to create an on-line site. Also, print production costs are ongoing, whereas with a website most of the production costs are incurred at start-up. We wanted to reach a wide audience and the Internet is a global medium, so it was an obvious choice.

“Asians from all over the world access this site, although the content is focused around

the UK. There is a global Asian Internet explosion right now and we are proud to be part of it. We want to positively represent our demographic, empower our people and celebrate our culture.”
