DTI trip worked, even minus target audience

Your report on the New York exhibition, attended by nine design groups and chaperoned by the Design Business Association (DW 14 June) was correct but not quite complete.

While we were all disappointed that our target audience was not at the show, a few of the groups – ourselves included – made important contacts and regard the effort as very worthwhile.

It should be mentioned (but not to the staff at Maddison sweating over deadlines!) that outside exhibition hours the group managed to have a great time. Without any planning we all happened to end up in the same New York restaurant – spooky huh?

There was only one mugging, and, of course, the story about the girl on the stand opposite…
