Brand Frontier identity an ideal vessel for MAV

Venture capitalist Maritime Asset Ventures will set sail next week with a six-figure identity by Brand Frontier, which has also created an identity for Aurora, the client’s £9m, 50m-long private charter yacht.

The consultancy won the work last December without a pitch. Brand Frontier business development director Mark Pinder expects MAV to become an on-going client and suggests that the project is worth ‘around £100 000’ in fees.

Based in London and Bermuda, MAV is a capital investment company specialising in maritime-related areas from marine salvage projects to harbour-side property developments. The company is also understood to be planning a clothing brand bearing the Aurora name, aimed at the specialist yachting market.

The revamped identity takes the concept of reflections on water as its theme, and this is emphasised across stationery and marketing literature, also created by the group.

‘The brief was to create an identity that was more upbeat [than MAV’s previous logo] to reflect the fact the company is going for bigger projects,’ says Pinder.

Brand Frontier designer Lee Scott worked with creative director Chris Sessions on the project.
