The power of the press was proved again last week through a scam by a would-be Design Week hack. Mere mention of our esteemed organ and a feature on how to win business had at least two design groups telling their secrets to one Jane Porter.
The trouble is, none of us has even heard of Ms Porter, let alone given her authority to act on DW’s behalf. The phone number she left our gullible friends appears to be out of service. Sounds more like a devious trick from a less than ethical design group rival than the tactics of an honourable journalist.
So if you find yourself being grilled by a Jane Porter, remember you were warned – and call us with the details.
