Peak performance at IOD Design Summit

I thought your editorial piece congratulating the Institute of Directors on the Design Summit was well deserved (DW 13 October).

Along with several design luminaries, I enjoyed a day at the IOD, seeing some excellent presentations. You could hear a pin drop when Geoff Nicol of Navyblue reminded us about the 6 July celebrations, when London won the 2012 Olympic bid.

The Saatchi presentation on Love Brands was also one of the highlights, as was the performance of the chairman for the day, Jonathan Sands, chairman of Elmwood, who dealt with some technical issues with great ad-libbing.

The IOD is following up on this event with other well balanced and innovative, creative presentations, and the successful and fun Design Summit was a great start.

Well done to the IOD team for making it happen and helping the design community reinforce the importance of design to business.
